SCHEMES IMPLEMENTED BY DISTRICT ADMINISTRATION
Achievements under MPLADS, MLA-ADS, UNITED FUND, BUNIYAD etc.
for last four years from 2001-2002 to 2004-2005 in the District of Kamrup.
1. MPLADS
The Member of Parliament Local Area Development Schemes (MPLADS)
was announced in the parliament on 23rd December’1993. Under MPLADS
each MP has a choice to suggest to the concerned District Collector,
Development works based on locally felt needs. In the year 1993-94, each MP
could suggest works to the tune of Rs.5.00 lakhs per
year. From the year 1994-95 to 1997-98, each MP could suggest works to the tune
of Rs. 1 crore per year. But, from the year 1998-99
this amount has been raised from Rs. 1 crore to Rs. 2
crores per year.
Verieties of works have been
taken up under MPLADS in the district, which have contributed to the well being
of the public. Some very good works like construction of School Building,
College Building, Roads, Bridges and Culverts, drinking Water facilities like
Hand Tube Wells, Tara pumps, Agri bundhs
Fishery Tanks, Ambulance etc. have been taken up under MPLADS for the benefit
of the common people in the district.

3. Achievement under Untied
Fund Schemes:
The Untied
fund is an earmarked fund for the purpose of encouraging local level planning.
The schemes under Untied Fund should be of local nature. It is desirable that
such scheme helps either production or employment generation or both. The

3.4 Untied Fund (BUNIYAD) Scheme, 2004-2005
For
infrastructure development of provincialised Higher
Secondary Schools in the district of Kamrup, an amount of 150 lakhs has been sanctioned (@Rs. 5.00 lakhs
per school) against 30 nos. of H.S. Schools in the first phase.
During second
phase, an amount of Rs. 45 lakhs has been sanctioned
